Sexual swelling

Okay, so you know how sometimes your finger swells up if you hurt it or get a boo-boo? Well, sometimes animals (like monkeys and dogs) can swell up down there in their private parts too, but for a different reason. When a female animal is getting ready to have babies, her private parts can get bigger and puffy, kind of like blowing up a balloon. This is called sexual swelling. It helps the male animals know when the female is ready to mate and have babies. It might look strange or funny, but it’s a natural thing that happens in some animals.
