ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Shading

Shading is a way of adding detail and shadows to an object. It looks like shading it gives an object a 3D look, which makes it appear more realistic. When you shade, you draw lighter and darker parts of the object, so it looks realistic and it doesn't look flat. To do this, you can use different tools such as pencils, markers, and paint. Different tools have different textures, which give the object a different type of shading. By making smarter choices with the type of shading, you can make the object look even more realistic.
