Shallop

A shallop is a very old-fashioned boat that people used to use a really long time ago. It's like a mix between a big canoe and a small sailing ship. Imagine a big, wide canoe that can hold more people and things, and also has a little sail on it that can help it move faster. Shallops were really useful for people who needed to get around on the water, like fishermen or explorers, because they were easy to maneuver and could handle different types of water, like calm lakes or rough seas. Nowadays, most people don't use shallops anymore because we have bigger and more advanced boats, but they were really important back in the olden days!
