ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Shallow sky

Hey there little one! The shallow sky is the part of the sky that we can see with our naked eyes without any special equipment. Imagine looking up at the sky during the daytime or at night when there are stars visible. You can see the blue color during the day and the stars at night. That's the shallow sky!

It is called "shallow" because it only includes the things that are closest to us in space. The stars and planets that are far away are not part of the shallow sky. The shallow sky is just what we can see from the ground without any telescopes or spaceships.

So the next time you look up at the sky, remember that the shallow sky is what you are seeing with your eyes without any help from fancy equipment!
