Shaped canvas

A canvas is like a big piece of paper that people use to make pictures. Normally, it's a rectangle shape, kind of like a picture frame. But, sometimes artists want to be creative and make their canvas into a different shape!

So, a shaped canvas is when an artist takes their canvas and cuts it into a special shape that they want their picture to be, like a circle or a heart. They might use special tools like scissors or a craft knife to do this. Once they have the canvas shaped the way they want it, then they can paint or draw on it to make their picture.

It's kind of like making a puzzle! You start off with a big rectangle canvas, but then you cut it up into smaller pieces and put them back together in a special way. This way the picture ends up looking different and unique from all the other rectangle pictures out there. Cool, huh?
