Ship's wheel

A ship's wheel is like the steering wheel in a car, but it's used to steer a big boat called a ship. It's a big round circle that the captain uses to turn the ship in different directions.

The ship's wheel is connected to a special device called a rudder, which is like a big flat plate that sticks out from the bottom of the ship. When the captain turns the wheel, it moves the rudder and that makes the ship change direction.

It's important to steer the ship in the right direction so it doesn't crash into anything like other ships, rocks or icebergs.

The size of the ship's wheel can vary, depending on how big the ship is. Sometimes there is just one wheel, but for really big ships there can be more than one.

So, think of it like this - when you ride your bike and turn the handlebar to change direction, the ship's wheel does the same thing for a really big boat!
