ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Shipyard

Okay kiddo, imagine you want to build a big toy ship that you can play with in the pool. But building a ship is a lot of work and you'll need a big space to work in and a lot of tools and materials.

That's what a shipyard is - it's a big place where people build ships. But instead of toy ships, they build real, huge ships that can carry people, cars, and other things across oceans.

Inside a shipyard, there are different areas where people do different parts of building the ship. There are places where workers make the big metal parts like the hull (the bottom of the ship) and the deck (the top part), then they put them all together like a puzzle.

There are also places where people install the engines and other important equipment that the ship needs to be able to move and operate. And some people paint and decorate the outside to make it look nice.

It takes a lot of skill and teamwork to build a ship, and it can take a really long time. But when it's all finished, it's like having a giant toy that can go on real adventures across the sea!
