ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Side-channel attack

A side-channel attack is when someone tries to get information from a computer or device without permission. It is like a thief sneaking in through a side door instead of the front door. In a side-channel attack, the thief looks at how the device works, like how much power it uses or how fast it runs. The thief uses the information they get to guess your passwords or other secret information like credit card numbers.
