ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sigma 12–24mm f/4.5–5.6 lens

Ok kiddo, we are going to talk about the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 lens.

So imagine you are looking through a window, but this window lets you see a lot more than a regular window. This lens lets your camera take pictures that show a very wide view, almost like you are not looking through a window but standing outside and looking all around.

You know how sometimes when you look through a small hole you see less than when you look through a big hole? Well, this lens has a big hole, which means it can let in a lot of light. That's why it has those numbers f/4.5-5.6, they tell you how big the hole is.

The other number you see, 12-24mm, is telling you how wide the view is. The lower the number, the wider the view you will have. So, 12mm means it's super wide and 24mm is not as wide but still pretty wide.

Think of it like this, when you want to take a selfie with your friends, you need a camera that can see all of you in the picture. That's what this lens is for, it helps your camera see more of what's around you and it does it really well.
