ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sigmoid colon

The sigmoid colon is a part of your large intestine, which is the last part of your digestive system. The sigmoid colon is shaped like a letter "S" and goes from the end of your large intestine to your rectum. Its job is to take food waste (called stool) from your intestine and store it until it is ready to be removed from your body. The stool is then pushed out of your body through the rectum.
