ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Signalling control

Well kiddo, have you ever been out playing with your friends and you needed to communicate with each other so you don't get lost or hurt? That's kind of like what signalling control is.

You know how when you play with walkie talkies, you push a button to talk and then let go when you're done? Signalling control is like that, but for things like traffic lights and trains.

These things need to communicate with each other to know when it's safe to go and when it's not safe. We have people or computers that control the signals, just like how you or your friend controls the walkie talkie with a button.

This makes sure that everything works together properly and nobody gets hurt or confused. So, signalling control is just like having a big game of walkie talkie with traffic lights and trains, to make sure everyone stays safe!
