ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Simultaneous editing

Ok kiddo, let’s imagine that you and your friend want to draw a picture together. But you don’t want to wait for your friend to finish their part before you can start drawing. So you both decide to work on it at the same time!

Now, imagine that you and your friend can work on the same exact part of the picture at the same exact time, without interrupting each other. This is called Simultaneous Editing!

For example, let's say you and your friend are working on a digital drawing of a cat. You can both work on different parts of the cat at the same time, like your friend could be drawing the cat's head while you draw its tail.

This makes it faster and more fun to work together! But, it's important to make sure you both communicate with each other and work on different parts of the picture, so you don't accidentally draw over each other or make a mess of the picture.

So, that's what simultaneous editing means - collaborating with someone on the same project at the same time without getting in each other’s way. It’s just like drawing a picture with a friend but on a computer.
