Single-speed bicycle

A single-speed bicycle is a special kind of bike that doesn't have lots of different gears that you can shift between like some other bikes. Instead, it only has one gear that you ride in all the time. It's like having a toy car with only one speed - it always goes at the same speed and you can't make it go faster or slower by changing gears.

When you ride a single-speed bike, you have to pedal to make it move. But since there's only one gear, you can't make it any easier or harder to pedal by changing gears like you can on other bikes. This means that it can be harder to ride a single-speed bike up big hills or go really fast on flat roads, but it can also be simpler and more fun because you don't have to worry about shifting gears all the time.

Single-speed bikes can be great for people who just want to ride their bike around town, commute to work or school, or go for casual rides with friends. They usually don't have as many fancy features as other bikes, but they can still be comfortable and fun to ride. So, if you want to give biking a try, a single-speed bike might be a good option for you!
