ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sino-Indian border dispute

Once upon a time, there were two countries named India and China. In between their countries, there is a place called the border, which is just a line on the map where India ends, and China starts. However, India and China both think that the border line should be drawn in a different way than the other, like drawing in a book, and both pointing to different lines on the page.

The Indian and Chinese armies have lots of soldiers who work very hard to protect their country. But sometimes, soldiers from India and China get angry with each other because both armies think the other one is trying to take their land.

Both India and China want to live in peace with all their land safe and secure. However, they cannot agree on which part of the land belongs to whom, and this makes them very upset, like when two kids fight over toys. That is why they are having a disagreement about their border.

Both India and China talk about their border problem, and sometimes they meet to discuss and try to find a solution. However, they still haven't found a solution that makes both sides happy.

But just like a mom who talks to her kids about the problem to make sure they sort it out and play together, other big countries of the world are encouraging India and China to talk and try to be friends, so there is no fight, and everyone can live peacefully.
