ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Site survey

When you do a site survey, it means you are looking around an area to see what is there and how it could be used or changed. For example, if you wanted to build a house, you would do a site survey to find out what the land looks like, where your neighbors are, and what the ground is like. You would also look at the trees, creeks, and other plants to make sure they wouldn't interfere with building a house. The survey might also include things like checking if there is enough sunlight, enough space for parking, and what kind of supplies and services you would need in the area. At the end of the survey you would have a better understanding of what the land looks like and what you can do with it.
