Skeuomorphism

Skeuomorphism is when something is designed to look like something else. A common example is a smartphone home screen that looks like a real desk with various apps that look like physical objects. For example, the music player app might look like a vintage cassette player, or the email app might look like an actual mailbox. The purpose of skeuomorphism is to make digital interfaces more relatable for users and easier to understand.
