ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sleep cell

So imagine your body is like a big city and there are lots of cells (little people who work and live inside your body). These cells, just like people, need rest and sleep to recharge their batteries and be ready for the next day.

A sleep cell is a special type of cell that helps the other cells know when it's time to go to sleep. It's like a little sleepy signal that gets sent out to all the other cells saying "hey, it's bedtime!"

These sleep cells work together with your brain to make you feel tired and sleepy when it's time for bed. They also help you stay asleep throughout the night so you can get the rest your body needs.

So if you ever feel tired or sleepy, remember that it's your little sleep cells working hard to help you get the rest you need!
