Slit drum

A slit drum is a musical instrument that is made out of a hollowed-out log or piece of wood. It is called a "slit" drum because there is a long slit cut into the top of the drum.

When you hit the top of the drum with a stick or your hand, the air inside the drum vibrates and makes a sound. The sound is different depending on where you hit the drum and how hard you hit it.

Slit drums are often used in tribal music in places like Africa and Papua New Guinea. They are also used in modern music today, especially in reggae and other forms of world music.

Slit drums can come in different sizes, with bigger drums making deeper sounds and smaller drums making higher sounds. Some slit drums even have multiple slits cut into them, which can create even more complex sounds.

Overall, a slit drum is a fun and unique instrument to play that creates beautiful sounds!
