Slowed rotor

Have you ever seen a helicopter go really slow? That's what we call a slowed rotor!

You know how a helicopter has these big blades that spin really fast and make it fly? Well, a slowed rotor happens when the helicopter slows down those blades so they don't spin as fast as they usually do.

This can happen for a few reasons. Maybe the pilot needs to slow down the helicopter so they can land safely. Or maybe the helicopter is carrying a lot of heavy things and needs to go slower so it doesn't crash.

When the blades slow down, the helicopter won't go as fast or fly as high as it does when the blades are spinning really fast. But that's okay, because sometimes going slower is safer and better for everyone on board.
