ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Social murder

Social murder is a big and serious topic, but let's try to explain it like you are 5 years old.

Have you ever heard of the game Jenga? It’s a tower game where you pull pieces out and then try to stack them back in the tower. It's fun, but if you pull out too many pieces, the tower falls down, right?

In society, we can also think of things as stacks of blocks like Jenga. Society is made up of different groups of people, like families, friends, and communities. If you take out too many blocks from a group, it could fall apart like a Jenga tower. This is what we call social murder.

Social murder happens when a group of people or a system takes away things that keep people healthy and safe like food, water, housing, and medical care. When these things are taken away, people can get really sick or even die. It's like taking too many blocks out of the Jenga tower and making it fall.

Sometimes, social murder can happen on purpose. For example, if a government doesn't give enough food to people who need it, they might be doing it on purpose to harm that group of people. Other times, social murder can happen accidentally because people didn't know how their actions would hurt others.

In the end, social murder is all about taking things away from people that help them stay healthy and safe. We need to work together to make sure everyone has the things they need to live a good life.
