Socialist fraternal kiss

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a group of friends who all live together in a big house. Everyone inside helps each other out and shares everything equally – like toys or snacks. That’s what socialism is all about!

Now, let’s say that one of your friends is feeling sad or upset. You might give them a hug or a high-five to cheer them up, right? Well, in the socialist countries that used to exist in Europe, people would sometimes do something called a “fraternal kiss” to show their support and solidarity for each other.

Basically, it’s a bit like a big, friendly kiss on the cheek that you might give to a family member or close friend. It’s meant to show that you care about the other person and are there for them, even if you maybe don’t know them very well.

Some people thought the socialist fraternal kiss was a bit silly, but others saw it as a powerful symbol of unity and brotherhood. Nowadays, you might not see it as much anymore, but it’s still an interesting part of history!
