Sociocultural linguistics

Sociocultural linguistics is a way of studying languages, which means looking at how language is used in different cultures and societies. It looks at how various cultures use language differently and how that affects the way we communicate with each other. It also looks at how different societies use language in different ways based on social, cultural, and economic factors. For example, some societies may use different words for the same thing due to differences in culture, or use different language styles when talking to different people. Sociocultural linguistics helps us to understand why people use language in different ways and how language shapes our interactions with others.
