Solar eclipses on the Moon

A solar eclipse on the moon happens when the Earth and the moon line up in a special way. The Earth is much bigger than the moon, so when it lines up just right, the moon moves into the shadow of the Earth. This means the sunlight does not reach the moon, and it gets really dark - like night time. This is called a solar eclipse on the moon!
