Soldering alloys are special metals that, when heated, will stick two pieces of metal together and make a strong bond. Alloys are metal mixtures that are made up of two or more metals. For example, lead and tin are common metals used to make solder alloys. When this metal mixture is heated up it creates a strong bond between the two pieces of metal you are trying to solder together. This strong bond is called a ‘solder joint’. Solder alloys are used in many different industries like electronics and plumbing.
