Okay kiddo, you know how when we cook something in the kitchen, sometimes there's leftover gunk on the stove or the pots and pans? Well, it's kind of like that but on a REALLY big scale.
In big factories that use boilers to make electricity or heat for their building, there's something called soot that can build up inside the boiler. That soot can cause problems like making the boiler less efficient or even causing it to break down completely!
So, to prevent that from happening, they use something called a soot blower to clean out the inside of the boiler. A sonic soot blower is a special kind of soot blower that uses sound waves to blast the soot off the walls of the boiler.
Imagine a really loud noise like a firecracker going off inside the boiler over and over again. That noise makes vibrations (or sound waves) that are really strong and they knock the soot right off the boiler walls.
And that's it! A sonic soot blower is just a special tool that makes loud noises to keep big boilers clean and running smoothly.
