Sophocles

Sophocles was a really important guy who lived a long time ago in Ancient Greece. He was a writer and he wrote plays that people still talk about today.

His plays were like big stories that were acted out on a stage in front of lots of people. They were really popular and people would come from far away just to watch them.

One of his most famous plays was called "Oedipus Rex". In this play, there is a king named Oedipus who has some really bad luck. He accidentally does something that he didn't know was wrong, and because of that, he ends up having a really hard life.

Sophocles was really good at making people feel sad or happy with his plays. He would use special words called "language" that made people understand what the characters in his plays were feeling or thinking.

Even though Sophocles lived a really long time ago, people still read his plays and talk about how great he was.
