South American cuisine

South American cuisine is the food that you can eat in the countries of South America. Just like different people in school or different animals in the zoo, each country has their own kind of food that they like to eat.

For example, in Brazil they eat a lot of rice and beans and they also love to eat meat, especially beef. In Peru, they have something called ceviche which is raw fish that has been marinated in lime juice and served with corn and sweet potato.

One thing that all of South America has in common is that they grow a lot of great fruits and vegetables like avocados, mangoes, and potatoes. They also have lots of yummy traditional drinks like the Brazilian caipirinha or the Argentinean yerba mate tea.

So just like how you and your friends might have different favorite foods, the countries of South America have their own unique cuisines too!
