Sovietization of Georgia

Okay kiddo, so a long time ago there was a country called Georgia. It was its own country with its own government and everything. But then some people from another country called the Soviet Union came in and took over. They wanted Georgia to be like them and do things their way, so they made Georgia become a part of the Soviet Union - kind of like how your toy cars can become a part of your toy city.

The Soviet Union made Georgia change a lot of things. They had to follow the Soviet Union's rules and do what they were told. They changed the way Georgia's government worked and made sure that people who were loyal to the Soviet Union were in charge. They also made everyone speak Russian instead of Georgian, which was Georgia's own language.

Some people in Georgia didn't like this and they wanted to still be their own country. But the Soviet Union didn't let them. They made it really hard for people who didn't agree with them to speak up. They even arrested people who protested and sent them to prison.

So, for a long time, Georgia was part of the Soviet Union and had to do everything the Soviet Union said. It wasn't until the Soviet Union fell apart in the 1990s that Georgia was able to become its own country again and make its own decisions.
