Space Shuttle Challenger disaster

The Space Shuttle Challenger disaster happened in 1986. It was a space shuttle mission that was supposed to launch from Florida, but something went wrong. When the space shuttle was about to take off, a piece of the rocket's fuel tank broke off. It was a big problem because the fuel tank contained fuel and the fuel was burning hot. That hot fuel mixed with the cold air and created a smoke cloud so thick that everyone on the ground could not see the shuttle. The shuttle shook and broke apart in the air, losing all of its crew members. Sadly, the seven astronauts on board the Space Shuttle Challenger died in this accident.
