Spanish American Enlightenment

The Spanish American Enlightenment was a period in history when people in Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas (like Mexico, Peru, and Argentina) started to learn about new ideas in science, philosophy, and political thinking. During this period, people began to look for ways to improve their countries, and think about ideas like political freedom, equality, and justice. They started new schools, published books, and even wrote their own constitutions to create a better society. This period of learning and thinking gave rise to a new understanding of the world and how it works, and laid the groundwork for Latin American independence and modern democracy.
