Spanish East Indies

The Spanish East Indies were colonies in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Ocean that were controlled by the Spanish Empire. These colonies were acquired by the Spanish in the 16th century and they traded things like spices and other goods with people from all over the world. They brought Christianity with them and spread it throughout these areas. The Spanish East Indies were very important to the Spanish and even though they were lost in the 19th century, their legacy still lives on today.
