Spark testing

Hey kiddo, so have you ever heard of something called spark testing? Well, it's actually a way to check if something is made of metal or not.

So, you know how fire makes sparks when you light it, right? Well, spark testing works kind of like that. First, we need a special tool called a spark tester. It's like a little wand that we hold while we test the metal object.

Then, we rub the metal object against the spark tester really fast. When we do this, tiny sparks will fly off the metal object and onto the spark tester. These sparks look kind of like fireworks!

Now, if the metal object is made of a metal like iron or steel, the sparks that fly off will be really bright and hot. But if the object is made of something like aluminum, the sparks will be much fainter and won't stay hot for very long.

So, by looking at the sparks that the metal object makes, we can tell what kind of metal it is made of. Pretty cool, right? That's spark testing in a nutshell!
