ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Speaking truth to power

Speaking truth to power means telling someone who is in a higher position or has more authority than you about something that is true, even if it might not be what the other person wants to hear. For example, if you see something wrong going on at your school but the principal is trying to hide it, you might speak truth to power by telling the principal what is really happening. It can be scary because the person in power might not like you saying something they disagree with, but it's important to stand up for what is right.
