Special right triangles

A special right triangle is a type of triangle with specific dimensions so that the measurements of certain angles or side lengths match up with certain numbers or formulas. For example, the most common type of special right triangle is the "45-45-90 triangle." That's a triangle with three sides and three angles, and the three angles add up to 180 degrees like any other triangle. The three side lengths of a 45-45-90 triangle are always related in a special way. The longest side, the "hypotenuse," is always the same length as the two smaller sides added together. So if the two short sides are 4 and 4, the longest side must be 8. That's true no matter how big or small the triangle is.
