ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Spectral evidence

Okay, imagine you're in a court and people are trying to figure out if someone did something bad or not. Sometimes, people might use something called "spectral evidence." That's when they say they saw a ghost or a spirit of someone who was hurt, and that the ghost told them who did it.

Now, some people might believe in ghosts and spirits, but spectral evidence isn't always reliable because ghosts and spirits aren't real things that we can touch or see like people or objects. So, some people think that spectral evidence should not be used in court because it's too hard to know if it's really true or just made up.
