Square root of 7

This in-between number is called the square root of 7. It's like the number you multiply by itself to get 7, but since 7 is not a perfect square (like 4 or 9), the answer isn't a whole number. So, the square root of 7 is a number between 2 and 3, but we need special symbols (a radical sign) to represent it because it's not a simple number like 2 or 3.
