Stacked Volumetric Optical Disk

Okay kiddo, so a stacked volumetric optical disk is like a really special kind of DVD that can hold a lot more information than a regular DVD. It works by having many layers stacked on top of each other, like a cake.

Each layer has tiny little bumps on it called pits and lands, kind of like braille. These bumps are really small and close together, so a special laser beam can read them and understand what information is stored there.

The laser beam can also go all the way through the layers, so you can store a lot more information on one disk. Think of it like having a lot of different floors in a building, but they're all on one disk.

It's really cool because you can store a whole bunch of movies or video games or music on just one disk! And you can use it over and over again, so you don't have to keep buying new ones all the time.

So that's pretty much what a stacked volumetric optical disk is, it's just a very special and smart kind of DVD that can hold a lot more information than a regular one.
