Standard electrode potential (data page)

Standard electrode potential (data page) is a way of measuring the amount of electricity that an element can produce when added to water. It’s a measure of how much energy is released when the element joins with the water and produces electricity. Think of it like a race: some elements will be able to cross the finish line faster, meaning that they will produce more electrical energy than other elements. The data page shows you how much energy each element will produce.
