Standard siren

Okay kiddo, imagine you're a police officer and you need to let people know you're coming. You could yell out the window or use a whistle, but those might not be loud enough for everyone to hear. So, you use something called a standard siren.

A standard siren is a special kind of alarm that makes a very loud, high-pitched noise. It can be heard from far away and helps let people know to get out of the way so you can get where you need to go quickly and safely.

The standard siren also has different patterns of sound that it can play. This is because police officers need to communicate different messages with their siren while they're driving. For example, they might use a different pattern of sound to tell people to pull over to the side of the road, or to let other drivers know they're in a hurry and need to get through traffic.

So, the standard siren is a very important tool for police officers and emergency responders. It helps keep them and the people around them safe by making sure everyone knows they're coming and can get out of the way.
