Stare decisis

Stare decisis means that judges should make their decisions based on what other judges have decided in previous similar cases. This means that if someone brings a case to court, the judge should look at other similar cases to see what the outcome was. This makes it so that people in different courtrooms get the same outcome for similar cases.
