Starlight is the light that comes from the stars in the sky. Just like how the Sun gives us light during the day, stars also give us light at night, except they are really far away so they look tiny.
The light we see from the stars is actually very old. It takes a really long time for the light to travel from the star to Earth, so by the time we see it, it could be thousands or even millions of years old!
Different stars give off different colors of light – some are blue, some are red, and some are white. This all depends on how hot the star is.
But even though starlight looks pretty, it's not just for decoration. Astronomers use starlight to learn more about the stars and the universe. They can use special tools and instruments to analyze the starlight and find out things like how far away the star is, what elements it's made of, and even if there are planets orbiting around it.
