Statue of Shinran, Tokyo

Okay, so imagine a big statue of a person in Tokyo. This person was named Shinran and he is very important to some people who follow a religion called Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.

Shinran was a teacher who lived a really long time ago and he told people about being kind and helping others. He also talked about a special person named Amida Buddha who could help anyone who believed in him, no matter how many mistakes they made.

The statue of Shinran reminds people of his teachings and how he wanted everyone to be happy. It's like a really big, shiny reminder to be kind and to believe in goodness. And lots of people like to visit the statue to pay respect or to just feel inspired.
