Steam engine

The steam engine is like a machine that uses steam (or hot air) to create power. It works by heating water until it becomes steam, which is a hot and more powerful form of air. The steam pushes against a big wheel that causes it to move. This moving wheel can then be used to do work like turning a fan, or operating a machine. Steam engines were important in the early 1800s, because they made it possible to power factories, ships, trains, and other machines.
