ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stock tank

Let's say you have a big container that you use to fill up with water and float your rubber duckies in. Now, imagine you can make money by putting something called "shares" into that container instead of toys. These shares are a way for people to own a little piece of a company, kind of like a tiny superhero cape that lets them feel like they're helping the company grow.

That container that you're filling up with shares is called a stock tank. Just like you can fill up your container with more toys or water, people can put more shares or take them out to make money. The amount of money people make from these shares depends on how much the company is worth and how many shares they have.

The stock tank is sort of like a big game where people buy and sell their shares to make money. And just like with any game, sometimes people can make a lot of money and sometimes they can lose some. But by understanding how the stock tank works, people can use their knowledge to make smart choices and hopefully make some money in the process.
