ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stockpile

When people want to make sure they have enough of something they need, they might start saving it up all in one place. This big pile of things that they save is called a stockpile. It's like when you save up all your Halloween candy in a big bucket so you can eat it later.

But instead of candy, people might stockpile things like food, water, or other supplies. This is because they want to be prepared in case something bad happens, like a natural disaster or a power outage.

Stockpiling means that they have enough of these important things to last them for a little while, even if they can't go to the store to buy more. It's like having a secret stash of snacks in your room so you can have a treat even if your mom says no more candy for the night.

So, stockpiling is when people save up lots of important things in one place so they have enough in case of an emergency.
