ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Strangle knot

A strangle knot is when you tie a rope in a special way so that it can be used to strangle or squeeze something. Imagine you have a lasso rope that you use to catch cows. Instead of looping it around the cow's neck gently, you tie the rope in a special way so that it squeezes the cow's neck and stops it from moving. The strangle knot is like that but used for different things like tying up boxes or securing a load on a truck. Just like when you tie your shoelaces, you need to cross the rope over each other in a certain way to make the knot. The big difference is that a strangle knot is meant to hold something tightly without slipping or coming undone. So, it's important to learn how to tie this knot correctly, especially if you plan to use it for something important.
