ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Strategic reserve

A strategic reserve is something that a government, company, or organization keeps in case of an emergency. It is usually a special type of supply that can not be easily replaced, like a food supply or supplies to make products. The idea is that if something bad happens, like a drought or a war, then the strategic reserve will help to keep people and businesses going until things get better.
