ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Street theatre

Street theatre is like when you pretend to be different characters and act out a play, but instead of doing it on a stage, you do it on the street or in a public place. It's kind of like playing dress-up and make-believe, but instead of just doing it in your house or backyard, you're doing it in front of other people who are walking by.

When you do street theatre, you usually don't have a big stage or fancy props, so you have to use your imagination and be creative with what you have. You might use things like cardboard boxes, hats, or masks to help you become your character.

People who do street theatre usually want to do it to entertain others and make them laugh or think about something. Sometimes they do it to share a message or to protest something they think is wrong.

So, next time you see people pretending to be different characters and acting out a play in the street, you can think of it as a big game of make-believe that they're sharing with other people!
