ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Strength training

Strength training is like giving your body superpowers! It's when you do exercises that make your muscles stronger and more powerful.

You know how you use your arms to carry your toys or your legs to jump and run? Those muscles in your arms and legs need to be strong to do those things. And strength training can help make them even stronger.

Some examples of strength training exercises are push-ups, lifting weights, and squats. When you do these exercises, you put stress on your muscles, which makes them work harder. And when your muscles have to work harder, they get stronger.

But it's important to remember that you should always do these exercises with an adult supervising you, and start with light weights or no weights at all. It's also important to rest your muscles between workouts, so you don't get injured.

So, when you do strength training, you're not only making your muscles stronger, but you're also helping your body do everyday things like carrying your school bag or playing with your friends. And that's pretty cool!
