Strengthening Church Members Committee

The Strengthening Church Members Committee (SCMC) is a group of people who work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their job is to make sure that church members are following the teachings and rules of the church.

Just like how your parents might remind you to be kind to others or to clean your room, the SCMC reminds church members to stay faithful to their beliefs and to make good choices. They do this by monitoring what church members are saying and doing online, in books, and in public speeches.

If the SCMC finds something that goes against the teachings or rules of the church, they might talk to the person about it or even ask them to stop. This is to help protect the church and make sure everyone is working together to follow the same beliefs.

Think of the SCMC like a coach for the church, making sure everyone is playing by the same rules and doing their best to be good members of the church.
